Hello All, How do you get the 5"Shackle Bolt out when it's 3" From the Frame?
I want to put drop shackles, all would be easy except for this. Thanks in advance. Great Site!!!!!!

if you have a hitch you have to drop it down so you can get the bottom bolt out then you can raise up the leaf springs enough to get the bolt out above the frame. its pretty simple to be honest with you.

dropping down from the bed out, then i ground part of the bolt flat (the washer part) then pulled it out over the frame..

what Fogle said is the way I did it.I wouldnt suggest cutting anything where its not needed at all.

Looks like you have a crew cab, if so like fogle said, shouldn't be that hard. Stepsides on the other hand are a little tough.

support the rear of the frame on jackstands to where the rear tires are almost off the ground. next place a jack under the rearend, loosen and take out the bottom bolt on each side(might have to jack the rearend to release the stress on the bolt) slide the bolts out. next jack up the rear end and push the leaf spring up by hand until the upper bolts clear the frame. then you can slide the upper ones out and reverse the procedure...

I had to cut mine because it is a pain in the *** on a stepside.
