just getting an idea whether or not my sbc would hold any boost at all.

here's the specs
rebuilt from the ground up in May 2006
4 bolt main high nickel block- fully machined for rebuild
bored .040
all clearances are very very tight.
stock crank from a 73 truck
stock rods form a 73 truck
sealed power hypereutectic flat top pistons (about 8.2 CR maybe?)
stock 882 heads with new valves/springs/seats/retainers the works.
new lifters and pushrods (comp cams)
melling high volume oil pump
cam - 234/234 .512/.512 112lsa (i think that's the right lsa, maybe 114)
intake is a weiand xcelerator single plane
fuel/ignition system: custom MPFI system (home built ls-based )

I know the rods and crank are my weakpoints, but they seem to be strong. I'm not looking to cram like 15 pounds into the motor, maybe like 6 or 7 max. really I wanna do it to learn more about turbo motors before I turbo my truck. performance gains would be great, since the buggy's around 2k lbs.

I can do all the tuning for the motor and have the skills to fabricate all of the turbo mods. just wasn't sure if anyone on here has had experience turbocharging a genI sbc 350. I'm gonna put a 5.3 in the dune buggy eventually, but wanted to try and turbo the 350

this will thread will start a thunder storm, but you will be fine at 6-7psi. Many are doing this already with a stock engine.

i'd say you would be ok, but the heads are definetly going to hold you back on power. 882 are some of the worst heads you could possibly use. Some closed chambered 416 or 081 heads would work much better for you.

It should be ok with 6-7lb, however hypereututic pistons are prone to cracking from detonation more then others so play it safe.

ok that sounds good. I know the 882 heads aren't the best of them lol. they do the job for right now, and to tell you the truth the motor isn't taking in that much air at the moment to really notice it. I really wanna get some nice aluminum edelbrock heads, but I'd rather spend that money towards other things that're more bang for buck. I'm going to use a rather conservative tune to start off with on the motor and then go from there to see how the motor will react to the new EFI system. It should waken the motor up a lot hopefully. the turbo plan is to just build two log style headers and run a single smaller turbo that spools really fast. I was lookin at a T4 maybe. I dunno how it'd do, I might would run 2 of them since they're rather inexpensive. I'm lookin at maybe 1k for the turbo setup, that's using some nice parts too.

I can get some pics this weekend for you, they are assembled but should be tanked to clean them up, they are pretty greasy. I'll sell 'em for $50 plus shipping.

I agree, 5-7psi would be safe. Just the amount of torque you'd gain from the turbo would be worth it.
