how can i remove the factory clutch fan out of my friends 04 gmc truck .
and is there a way to put it back on..

They often come of hard with just a wrench. The best way is to have the serpbelt installed on the engine to help hold the water pump pulley from turning. I sometimes use a air hammer with a chisel bit to pound on the nut in the direction to loosen it up. They also make a nice tool that goes in a air hammer with a open end wrench on the other end for easy removal.

I used a really BF Pipe Wrnench AND a BFH so that i could feel extra manley!!! The two tools weight more then I do!!! LoL

Strap wrench on the water pump, big pipe wrench on the nut. Worked for me.

Use what there telling you...but if GM corss threaded it on like they did to my clutch fan....Then your gonna need a BFH and a strap wrench. Wedge strap wrench to water pump and dial the basterd off...

And hti the wrnehc towards the passenger side

Another option, go to autozone or advance and borrow a fan clutch removal tool set. Worked great on mine.....once I read the directions

I used the removal tool that works w/ an air hammer and i think it took all of 3.5 seconds to get it off
