Default LQ9 700r4 swap in a '69 C 10, trans advice needed

Hey guys, I've got an LQ9 on its way to swap out with my 396 in my 1969 C-10 SWB. The 396 was mated to a 700r4 and I planned on reusing it to avoid buying a new drive shaft, shift linkage, etc. However the new motor is drive by wire and has no location to hook up the 700r4 TV cable.

These are my options as I see them:
1: Sell the dbw throttle body and pedal assembly, buy a cable driven throttle body, and buy an LS1 TV cable conversion kit - cost - about $175

2: Convert the 700r4 with a manual valve body - cost $350ish plus install

3: Sell the 396 and 700r4 as a combo, buy a drop out 4L60,65,or 80e, buy new driveshaft and adapt the shift linkage. cost - dependant on sale of motor/trans, but might would break even.

The simplist and most practical is probably option one, but I was pretty set on having DBW. Also, is the time, hassle, and money involved in going with a modern 4l65 or 80 worth the tuneability of the electronic controls?

One more question - does anyone know the differences between the shift linkage hook ups in a modern 4l65 as opposed to a 700r4, would i need to change the truck linkage?

All opinions are welcome, let me know what you think.

Thanks!

the 4l60E is the same in most ways as the 700r4 so the driveshaft will work,

The biggest difference is electronic vs standard valve bodies.
