When I start up my truck it starts with no problem but at idle it has wierd miss and sometimes well most time when I throw it in revers it just dies...

any ideas?


Heres a few things that I have replaced in the last 2 weeks-

fuel sending unit including the fuel pump
wires
plugs
cap rotor
ign. coil
timing chain
every gasket possible
and then some....


any help would be greately app....

kinda sounds like a problem i had on my 87 tbi truck. Ended up being a broken knock sensor wire. Have you changed the starter recently? Lots of times the wire get unplugged of broken when taking the starter out.

Should be on the pass. side of the block towards the bottom. Mine had 1 wire going to it and if i recall correctly the wire was blue.

funny, but I just put a new starter last week.. thanks for the input I'll take a look at that tomarrow...

yea post up if that isn't it or if you have troubles indentifiying the knock sensor. I think i have one laying around somewhere i can take a pic of for you.

well found a broken knock sensor and a bad connector, so I get both new and still have the same problem?
