4.8 oil leak

4.8 oil leak
So i recently bought a 2001 silverado RCSB 2 wheel drive with the 4.8. While changing my oil I noticed that it has apparantly been leaking oil around the oil fill area on the passanger side head. I didnt know if there is a gasket here or if anyone else has experienced this? The oil gauge reads 60 while cruising but will go up to 80 under full throttle. What does this mean?
thanks

Yea, the oil fill tube usually has an oily residue on it from either spillage or slight seepage from where it goes in the valve cover. I don't think that there's any gasket there, just a plastic tube that twists and snaps in. If it's not pouring out I wouldn't worry about it...nothing a can of brakleen can't fix lol, or as we call it at work, "gasket in a can"...
