before the truck was wrecked there was no codes present. the frame is powder coated and where there was grounds i grind to metal for good ground. if a ground could be a problem let me know where and i could check it. i have cleared the code and it comes back. help needed thanks. the following is a print out from a scan tool.

code p0449
definition-evaporative emission system purge/vent solenoid circuit condition
explanation-the solenoids and system wiring are monitored for opens or short
probable cause-1. purge or vent solenoids defective
2. check connector and wiring
3.fuel saturated vapor canister
4.failed evap vent soleniod

Evap vent solenoid, back by the gas tank. That's what it sounds like to me. I had the same issue last year on my 06. I have a bunch of info on it here it may help you, I think that I have part numbers and all too.

IIRC what Bigred posted will likely be the fix.

but always start with the gas cap.

well the gas cap is good and the post big red has it wont let me view it. i joined the forum and still cant view it.

It's not the cap. The code says there is a problem with the circuit. That means it's an electrical problem. It's more than likely the purge/vent solenoid itself. You can take it off and put power and ground the the solenoid and it should click.

The system is showing that you need to finish the email verification. You should have received an email from there. Follow the link back to the site and you should be able to see all docs. Just our way of trying to deal with spammers.
