2000 chevy straight pipe?
I've been told that if I want to do away with the cats on my 2000 5.3 chevy,,that it will mess with the sensors and it wont run good. Has anyone here done that? I have a gibson exhaust,,just from the cat back...
I'm really just looking for more power, and Oklahoma doesnt do any vehicle inspections anymore!

From what I have heard its not worth just removing the cats. If your going to go through all that trouble (including re-tuning your truck to run with out cats) its worth more installing a good set of long tube headers a new y pipe (if your going to still use the single tube exhaust) and then having it tuned. Way more gains.

like scoob said, the only reason u should remove the casts is if you are installing long tubes. the only other reason i would cut off cats without any other exhaust mods would be a clogged converter. The gains are just not there.
