Default Pulling engine on AWD

So for those that don't know, the LS2 took a dump about a couple months ago. I have a new LS3 with 31 miles on it out of a brand new Camaro SS sitting waiting to go in but, have a question about pulling the LS2.

I am pretty close to having everything disconnected to pull the engine out but, just not sure on the axle shaft stuff through the oil pan. I have the driverside hub and front diff unbolted. The diff can be pushed over some like that but, I can see that the intermediate shaft through the pan is still engaged in the diff. I'll pull the passenger side apart tomorrow and see what I get into but, just wanted to ask and see if anyone who has done this has any tips about the front axle setup.

If you have a link with pics or anything that would be great too. I bought some service manuals but they don't seem to have any info on the front driveline.

Pop axles out and remove motor with diff still bolted on the pan
Take the 8 bolts that hold the body to the frame out, unplug harness, pick up body, move body, work on engine
But this may be easier

BTW, it's easy enough to pull the engine from the top. Just have to pop those axles out!!! You don't even have to pull the heads or crank pulley off!

So how is it going? When will you have it back on the road?

Quick comment for anyone reading this later. I just did this swap (but LS2 not LS3). I removed the front differential before removing the engine, but put it back on before reinstalling the new one. The easiest way to pull it out is likely with the front differential still attached. The axles must be removed though.
