4.3 4l60e vs 4.8/5.3 4l60e
Are there any major differences between the two transmissions? I have searched and found one post saying the bellhousings are different. Is it a major difference, or just the one bolt that wont line up, and if so, would it be fine to leave it out.
I have a 4.8/nv4500, and am looking to go to an auto. I have found a 4l60e/tc out of a 03 blazer with low miles and a good deal and want to make sure that this will hold up behind the 4.8. The engine will stay almost completely stock, but there is a big difference in the hp between a 4.3 and 4.8.

Torque is almost the same, though, and that's what'll likely kill your transmission.
How did you get the NV4500 behind the 4.8? Usually the 4.8's had the NV3500, same thing the 4.3 had.
Unless things have changed, you SHOULD be able to bolt up a 4.3 transmission to the 4.8... But I can't say for sure 100%

If the only difference is the 1 bolt hole difference, thats not an issue as teh dowels take most of the rotational torque.
I think there is a difference in the input shafts of the 4.3 and GEN 3 engine 60e.
I am running a 4.3 trans and TC behind my L31, but thtas different than your GEN 3 engine.
There are a couple kits that can be used to iubstall any 4l60e behind any GM engine.

thanks for the replies. I figured from all the searching and other posts on here that it was possible, but wanted to make sure. I cant get the guy back on the phone, and he is failing to send me pics of said trans, so i have searched again.
Now i have found a trans and tcase out of and 02 trailblazer and 07 trailblazer ss. Again from my searching, i think that this one will bolt up, but is the wiring going to work? My 4.8 is an 02. Is this the same 4l60/65 that is behind the v8's, or will i need the same 6.0 flexplate like i would need with the 4.3?
Is there a big difference between the years? What about the tcases?
the 07 has 15k miles, and the 02 has 67k. Im sure that i can get the 02 for around 300, maybe a little less, but if the 07 is that much better i will go with that one.
