It's going in a 3100 pound nova, th350 3500 converter, 4.11 rear car. He wants it na right now but he is a nitrous junkie so getting a cam that would work well with a 150 shot or so would be a good idea. I found plenty of cams people are running in trucks but I don't know how much difference the weight will make. Any ideas? Oh, and he is just wanting to swap cam and springs if possible.

LS1tech has a carb section that has alot of information. it really depends on which intake manifold he plans to run.

Gotcha. I will check out over there. I have never been a carb guy so I don't know what differences it makes on cam choice. Usually responses over here are more on topic and helpful than ls1tech, lol.

very true. it's always easiest to just pay someone to come up with a custom spec. Howards cam has alot of off the shelf LS camshafts that just happen to look like good grinds for a single plane intake. what intake is he running?

He said he is planning on buying the victor intake. I asked if it was the super victor or victor Jr, or what. He didn't know, just said a single plane.

It's a nova, but street/strip kinda car. More strip than anything but still wants to be able to take it out and cruise when he wants.

Tell him to call Geoff at EPS and get him to spec a custom ground cam. I know a lot of guys around here use him.

carbed ls combos tend to respond better to cams with an lsa in the 110 range. since he will be running a 3500 stall and 4.11s with a th350, i would say a cam in the 220-224 range would be best. as for swapping just cam and springs, aftermarket hardened pushrods are almost mandatory and best. good luck with the project...should be fun in a 3100 lb nova, rob
